Opossums live throughout the United States, Mexico, and South America. They especially like to hang around in trees, sometimes upside down on their prehensile tail. Typically, they don’t mind exactly where they live, but they do enjoy living near wet, swampy areas where plenty of insects and small prey might live.
These animals are very docile. They usually spend most of their time waddling around and looking for insects to eat. They would much rather play dead than attack.
